How to Work Productively in an Enjoyable Way

Being productive is known as one of the shortcuts to having a successful life. But at times, you might be frustrated by the amount of work that you have to do or just have a lack of motivation. And this is completely normal, as all of us feel this way sometimes. A survey showed that 76% of undergraduate college students experienced a lack of motivation during online learning.

So how can we become more productive? The key is to enjoy being productive and look forward to feeling accomplished. If you have to get work done, you might as well make it fun! Here are some tips that can make being productive more enjoyable:

1. Track your progress

Tracking your progress can help you gain a feeling of self-accomplishment. It can be something like writing down how many hours you do your homework. By recording specific numbers, you can realize how hard you are working every day. This can also help you with time management and see at what times of the day you work best at.

2. Have something that makes you feel comfortable

Many items can help you find pleasure in being productive. For example, lighting a scented candle may be something special that you do when you want to be productive. Or having a bowl of hot Cheetos by your side while working on a report. Everyone has different tastes so it’s also fun to find something that assists your productivity.

3. Work with a buddy

Having someone to work with can help you enjoy work that maybe you wouldn’t have liked if you did it by yourself. Motivating each other can boost your productivity as well. It’s always nice to have company, which can make your working time feel faster. You can also enjoy the journey of searching for the best coffee shops as you look for somewhere that you and your buddy can work the best at.

4. Reward yourself!

After working hard and being productive, you should give yourself a prize to honor yourself! It can be anything from eating food, reading a good book, or relaxing in a nice, warm bubble bath. The possibilities are endless! This can help you enjoy being productive because you have something to look forward to.

Being productive can be hard as many things happen in everyday life, especially as we shift back to in-person work and school, making us busier. But being productive and finding how to enjoy it doesn’t just allow you to finish more work, but can also help you learn more about yourself.
